A sloped, unusable lawn and too-small patio needed a make-over. The homeowner wanted flat, functional spaces for cooking, dining, and entertaining in a patio setting, improved circulation and egress, and low maintenance plantings with year-round interest. Concrete retaining walls, risers, and a regraded slope created terraced spaces, a spacious patio with bluestone pavers replaced the dated patio, the spa was relocated and now included a seating area, garden beds and accent containers were added. The front entry was updated with wider walkways, shade garden plantings and lighting. Custom railings throughout brought an elegant and unified look to the outdoor living spaces and gardens.
